BIOGRAPHY

Scott McCullough is the last of eight children from his hometown of Minneapolis with parents that were married for over 48 years.  With 18 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces/nephews, Uncle Scott studied art, achitechture and film theory at the University of Minnesota while shooting small music videos for local bands.  Scott has served in all crew positions while honing his craft as a director.  Scott is a proven and national award winning director/cinematographer/editor. Scott worked on over two hundred filmed commercial projects (35 mm/16 mm/70 mm).  Serving as his own director of photography, Scott’s technical background has received numerous awards in cinematography.

Scott was discovered by musician/singer Prince.  After collaborating on 24 projects with Prince, Carmen Electra and other artists like The Time, Mavis Staples and Tevin Campbell, (6 of them awarded a RIAA rating of Gold for over $1 Million sold), Scott signed with top Minneapolis commercial production house.  Early national commercial clients include Target, Compaq, Ameritech, Marshall Fields, Best Buy and many others.

Scott’s breakout performance was when NASCAR/Winston Cup and R.J. Reynolds relied on Scott to direct/DP/edit an 11 minute, $4.5 million 70 mm wide screen production titled “Thunder Dome-100%”- dubbed the “worlds largest mobile theater” seating 200 viewers by means of 6 semi-tailer trucks, 7.1 surround, in theater effects and a 70 mm projection system.

Recent commercial clients include work with screen legend Paul Newman for Secure Horizons, Ford F-150, EA Sports, Ford NASCAR, Coors Light, Budwieser, Kumho Tires,  AMTRAK, Sony Play Station and many other national and international brands.

Advertising awards include ADWEEK top spots for 1998 and 1994, US Film Festival and Cannes Commercial Finalist along with many other notable awards.  Other awards include:  The New York Festivals, Gold World Medal, Bronze World Medal/Sonoma Valley Film Festival, Method Fest Film Festival, Orinda Film Festival, Indie producer Film Festival, finalist for “Audition”/2004 International Cinema and Technology Tour “God’s Helper”/ FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE BIARRITZ 2003 Jury Award “GODS HELPER”/ La Réalisation Intégrale Best Director “INNOCENT” and Best Actress in “GODS HELPER”/Circo de Ciurto (Italy)  Best Short/IFilm.com Drama Pick/ 3 AURORA-Platinum & Best of Show 1999/The New York Festivals: 2 Silver Medals, Bronze Medal, CANNES Film Festival Finalist commercial/3 CINDI gold awards/Intercom Awards-Silver Plaque, National ITVA: Bronze,/Gold/Silver/US International Film Festival: 2 Certificates of Creative Excellence/ADWEEK Top Spots 1998 and 1994/18 TELLY Advertising Awards/3 ADDY awards/AXIEM top award, Best of Show, 3 ITVA awards/16 Minnesota Music Video Awards, inc: “Director of the year” 3 years in a row-and others, CMT #1 Music Video 5 weeks, and others.

Two short films Scott directed; “Innocent”, written by Academy Award Winner Gareth Wardell, and “God’s Helper”, still playing the festival circuit winning "Best Director", "Best Actress", and several other festival awards (International and US).  Another short film “Audition” has won critical acclaim and festival selections around the country in 2004.  His Current feature film project “NO COPS WITH WEDDING RINGS” is being considered by Creative Artist’s Agency, written by Clay (THE WATCHER) Ayers.
